Born in Miranda, Venezuela, Gregory Vargas has had significant achievements in 4 full seasons in the Venezuelan league, such as the recognition as Rookie of the Year, in 2006, and the award for Best Sixth Man (averaging 9.81 points and 3.7 assists), in 2009. That same year Vargas worked abroad, playing for Los Angeles de Puebla, in Mexico, and Piratas de Bogota, in Colombia.
After six seasons with the team Marinos de Anzoategui, Brujos de Guayana signed Vargas to play in Puerto Rico for one season. Vargas comes from a very good period with Marinos in 2013. During the year he averaged 12.3 points and 5.7 assists. He was also a key for the national team in the qualifications for the 2014 World Cup in Spain, although they could not obtain a place.
Recently, Vargas has been with Caquetios de Falcon in the National Basketball League, with the objective of maintaining his fitness.
