Francisco García was born on December 31st, 1981 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
He lived with his mother and little brother Hector in the Bronx, New York. García suffered the great tragedy of losing his 19 year old younger brother Hector, nevertheless he scored 24 points against Seton Hall and then flew home for the funeral as soon as he found out. In memory of his little brother everytime he takes a long shot he beats his heart twice and looks up to the sky.
He was drafted number 23 for the Sacramento Kings in the first NBA draft in 2005.
He was traded to the Houston Rockets on February 20, 2013.
He won Bronze for the national Dominican team in Centrobasket at Cancun 2008, and also in 2011 at FIBA's American Championship and Silver in the Panamerican Games celebrated in Santo Domingo in 2003.
